Two more postings of yore..

If you have little time to spare, go through it… you won’t regret for it!
“The Government* still does not understand that the people are capable of seeing through pretensions. In a permanent state of denial, it goes on saying there is nothing wrong in what it does, or does not do. And because it does not see anything wrong, it will not set anything right. It has created a trap and fallen into it.” [From the Point of View by TJS George in ‘The New Sunday Express’, 6.11.11] *Better change the word Government with diocese! This is almost the state of affairs of our diocese, not yours alone, in your dwindling days of episcopacy!
You seem to avoid taking decisions, but delegate your already weakened authority to still weaker lieutenants! That itself shows the sticky wicket you are in and still batting… Whenever a serious issue came up, you would avoid it by ‘cunningly’ passing it to some commission! The net result is that neither you nor anyone of that commission would be held accountable for any lapse or loss. The diocese has suffered, lost enough. Manageable problems turned by indecision into unmanageable ones are any number… and some of them have ended up in disaster.  It is time to say, enough is enough!
What you are afraid of? You seem to be the most insecure person in the diocese and that is why you are afraid of almost everyone and everything! You are almost avoiding all serious meetings other than the ones with your ‘finance Committee!’ You can’t really face anyone and challenge them. You seem to escape situations by trying rather in vain to keep the challenging people at ‘safe’ distance through disciplinary actions against all known natural justice principles even!
You are so much obsessed with discretionary powers and expect people to trust you when you don’t trust anyone really. That power to be used only exceptionally is used frequently and prejudicially.
Why don’t you ensure public accountability? After all you are only a steward and the people are the real masters! Decentralization is yet another pretext!
You seem to believe that your authorities are not going to bell you, the cat. But be sure that people will do, if not today, tomorrow. You may not be able to take refuge under the shelter of canon law for long. No sooner than later you will be held accountable before the public.
The beauty of incarnation is God becoming vulnerable like any other human being. You may also claim to be vulnerable, but that is with regard to your power, position and the possession in your custody, if not control.
Having nothing is having everything, being empty is being powerful like the vacuum in the air. That is ‘kenosis.’ That is the mystery of the grain of wheat losing itself to bring forth thirty, if not sixty or hundred fold yield. That is the meaning of resurrection.

Glad tidings are still around the corner…
It was a glad tiding indeed for the few who were waiting with prayerful hope that the suspension ‘a divinis!’ inflicted on Fr. Labrin would be lifted, for it was unexpectedly fast. Instead of experiencing joy over finding the lost sheep, you seemed to have felt defeated and extremely humiliated! What a contrast between the good shepherd and the ‘shepherd’ with a mitre and scepter!
Never ever we heard you telling Labrin what he was demanding was wrong and for that matter should not be demanded. Instead you kept quiet and when that began to make inconveniences to people they seemingly have approached you to bring him around! Whatever he demanded was some information and details regarding some proceedings taken for granted in days gone and to clear the shadow of doubts many were talking in their private circles even today!

You seemingly have demanded ‘obedience’! Never ever was his personal integrity challenged or his moral standing questioned or his faith doubted!
